End of year reflection.

It was our last meeting with Richard today for the year. We really enjoyed having him and Hannah hopes to see him again next year. We had an end of year reflection on what we thought we improved on this year, What Richard taught us and what advice we have for the Student Council next year.

What we improved on?
Getting focused and staying on task.
"Knowing what your Purpose is and getting it done"
Becoming more confident as a group and opening up to new opportunities.

What has Richard taught us?
He has helped us get ready for leading when were older and making an impact on younger students.
He has taught us that leading us young adults is important and taking leadership roles.
Student leadership and agency, we shouldnt be scared to talk to adults about leadership roles and not let them shut us down with our roles.

Advice for next year?
"What is your purpose?"
Listening to others ideas and not being afraid to speak your mind with an idea.

We want your feedback, do you have any advice for next year for us?

Keeping clean, and germ free!

This week, a tummy bug has been going around school. Because of this we have been protected ourselves by putting hand sanitizer on our hands. We it on before we eat, after we eat, and even after we've washed our hands just to make sure.

Also in our last meeting with Richard, we discussed how we can go over to the other classes and teach kids how to wash their hands properly. So we will hopefully be doing that soon!

Ki O Rahi

Last term on the 12 of September some schools came over to Yaldhurst Model School to learn and play Ki O Rahi.  We all wanted the game to be non-competitive because we just wanted everyone to have fun.

All schools were all mixed up into to different groups for the game. We practiced the game and then we officially played the game. A couple of us filmed the experience:

                                                         Here are some more photos:

Our Student Council is very excited about promoting new activities as part of a healthy life style and can't wait to do this again next time.
And we'd like to thank Sport Canterbury for teaching us all how to play and bringing some supplies for the game.
